There have been many things that have come across my path in my 18 years of living. Sports, school, friends and things of that sort but, the thing I am most thankful for is my family. Not my family to its entirety but the ones I am closest to including: my mother, my grandmother, my siblings, my aunt, and my boyfriend…my immediate family. These people have made a significant impact on my character and my life. They have gone through every situation and life lesson with me without judgement. They have instilled in me good character and manners. They correct me when I’m wrong and push me harder when I’m right. If everything in my life fails (which I know they will never let happen) I know that I will always have that support system to pick me back up again. Although they won’t do so without a lecture or a “a told you so” they’ll still be there.
I couldn’t imagine a successful life without them. They are the creators of a courageous young college student. They will forever have a huge space in my heart and be the huge impact in my life. Family is forever. No matter how many times we may bump heads or shed tears or hurtful things family doesn’t change. You cannot change your family. You can only add on and when my time comes to add on to the family, I will teach my children, love and nurture my children as their elders did me.
